Colorado - Gambling, Gurus and Gorges

A brief stop in Cripple Creek, famous for gold mining, now a mecca for tourists with the urge to gamble.  Yeah, I had to play a little blackjack.  Walked away up $15!!!

South to the little town of Crestone, a community founded on principles of spiritualism, environmental consciousness, and acceptance....yeah, it's a hippie town.  But so much more.  Spent two days camped along the creek and explored

Working them dreads!  (I was told she was a DinoDoodle)

The Shumei Institute, where we chanted and were given a Jorei energy blessing.

Beautiful and fragrant Blue Rabbitbrush.

Dining Hall at the ashram where we were welcomed and invited to join them for lunch.

Wait - am I in India???

Outside the Crestone Brewery - time for a brew and a meal after all that heady spiritual stuff!

The "sound garden" here where you could bang and jam to your heart's content.
Brown's Canyon National Monument is one of the newest, created in 2015.  There's river rafting, fishing, hiking and just plain beautiful scenery.
