Just west of Colorado Springs is this small but impressive park, Garden of the Gods, a favorite with local climbers.

The historic town of Manitou Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak has plenty of shops, cafes, mineral springs and street art.

Farther west, the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a combination of the gigantic to the minute - from fossilized redwood stumps to tiny leaves and insects, including the only fossilized tse tse fly in the world.
